BA: Suspends Sharm El Sheikh flights

It seems the actions occurring in Egypt, and the lack of tourists has forced BA to suspend the route

Quoting BA:

“We have taken the decision to suspend our flights to Sharm El Sheikh from May 2, 2011.

“Based on current market conditions and current levels of expected demand for the summer, a Boeing 777 with 280 seats is not the right aircraft for Sharm-El-Sheikh.

“Unfortunately we do not have a feasible shorthaul solution for this route for the summer and have taken the decision to suspend our flights.”

Whilst a Club Europe product is possible with A320 equipment, it seems BA doesn't want to do this.  A shame, but understandable.

Other routes, such as LGW-SSH operate with EasyJet and LHR-SSH with Egyptair (or what remains of the fleet...)
