Thank you for the replacement bag that Frankfurt Airport managed to mess up for me. Whilst it may had taken 8 weeks, a few emails, a letter and a phone call to get to this point, at least you did the right thing.

And whilst I have made it back, I've been spending time at luggage claim.

Whilst I don't have my iPhone on me, or uploaded it... trust me, the TSA have once again surpassed themselves in Luggage destruction. And this time - it's business....

WW: Bad Baby! Curved Luggage boxes aren't good!

It seems BMI Baby (the low cost arm of British Midland International) is at it again, this time with luggage sizers being.... incorrectly sized.

For those of you who don't bother to use them, these are things you're meant to measure your luggage against to see if you're allowed to take your bag on board a plane - or not as the case may be.

BBC's Watchdog has discovered cases where a £30 charge has been levied for bags that are within the airline's size restriction.

The excuse BMI Baby has come up with is

"The discrepancies were due to the curved edges of the gauges used to determine the size of bags"


"Bmibaby is now looking to replace all its gauges with a version that removes this anomaly"

Wrong answer BMI Baby. The preceding words you missed off the PR are "We're Sorry, but..." 

And quite frankly inexcusable. So yes - Bad BMI Baby!

For now, take a mini tape measure with you to prove to the check in counter staff that you're right and they're wrong - and make sure your bag is within limits.....

And after much moaning, it seems KLM is once again offering it's EXCELLENT Free luggage tag offer - and this time, its available to the United Kingdom!

Cheer you may as you can upload your own pics, populate the tags, and off you go - and they last... about 3 years or so (with regular use... and the help of an office laminator).

And if you think my luggage is bad... (Thai Airlines Luggage Scandel)

The Chairman of Thai seems to forgotton to pay some excess baggage fees.... by about $5000, with a bit of customs fraud thrown in too.

The Thai media and bloggers have been all over this, and after the extended coverage,  Wallop Bhukkanasut, stepped down

The avoidance was on a Toyko-Bangkok, with 30 cases  of luggage being sent. Not only this, but to avoid customs, it was sent to the lost property office to be processed, with a weight of nearly 400kg (with an F class allownace of 150Kg)

Thai Airways is currently overhauling itself after reporting a loss of 21.3bn baht in 2008.

And to think I have the cheek of taking 64kg of luggage and feeling guilty ....

F**king IAD!

And in bad news.. my luggage has been lost.

Full rant tomorrow when I've had time to sleep...

And now in NJ...

... and SURPRISE... United have managed to ruin my luggage already.
